War Party Movement: Custom Arrow Request Form

At Ullr’s Archery, we are passionate about making a difference in our world. We are grateful to partner with some of the most incredible people in the world. The team at War Party Movement are some of them. We are proud to offer a way to support their mission while building you the precision set of arrows you have been looking for. Ullr’s will donate 15% of any purchase of War Party custom arrows or apparel to continue to support the work our friends put their heart and soul into each day. This will also serve to raise awareness for their cause, empowering individuals to be part of the Movement.

The War Party Movement is focused on action rather than just words. They are dedicated to breaking the cycle of abuse and transforming the treatment of women, especially in Native communities, through their 501(c)3 non-profit organization, War Party Ranch. This program offers women and girls the opportunity to develop practical skills that promote independence and self-reliance in various aspects of their lives. This community emphasizes horsemanship, agriculture, hunting, firearms skills, self-defense, and health and wellness. Through education, sponsorship, and direct intervention, they are committed to advancing this mission. War Party Movement, as a for-profit entity, generates funds through the sale of products and merchandise to support War Party Ranch. These funds directly contribute to the operational expenses of the ranch, the care of our horses, skills training clinics, services for women in our program, and sponsorships for War Party Ranch participants.

Once received, we will spec out the arrow based on the data entered, provide any feedback or recommendations on the build, and then send an invoice for your approval within 2-4 business days of receipt. Typical turnaround timeframes are 2-3 weeks, pending product availability.

Draw Weight LBS

Draw weight is the amount of weight, in pounds, that you have to pull against to get a bow string all the way to full draw. Please provide this as the data will be used in the design and build of your custom arrows.

Point Weight

Choose the weight of your point first and the stiffness of the shaft second: you need to make sure that the point of your arrow is heavy enough to avoid damage to your bow.

Spine Stiffness

Manufacturers recommend which spine should work best for various draw weights, arrow lengths and point weights. All three factors affect arrow flexing. Higher draw weights require stiffer arrows, as do longer arrows shot by archers with long draw lengths.

Arrow Length

New, raw arrows measure around 32" inches when shipped by the manufacturer. As you cut those arrows to fit your draw length, you make them stiffer. charts refer to arrow length, not draw length. Archers often confuse the two when picking arrows. Archers with a 27-inch draw length might shoot arrows anywhere from 26 to 29 inches long, depending on where your arrow rest is mounted, and how much arrow extends in front of the riser when you’re at full draw. Use the arrow length you intend to shoot when consulting the spine charts. If you are unsure of the length of arrow, please select "Ullrs Recommendation" and we will get in touch for more details.

Insert weight

Inserts are offered in a few different materials: aluminum and stainless steel. There are also different style inserts depending on your shaft selection. Standard diameter shafts use inserts that sit inside the shaft and sit flush to the end of the arrow shaft (.264"ID). The .204”ID shafts either use Half-Outs (half the insert is exposed and half is inside the shaft) or others offer an insert that sits flush inside the .204” shaft.

Fletching Setup

Three fletch arrows are the most common of all the fletching configurations. That’s because they provide good stabilization and maintain a good arrow trajectory and shot. For shooting targets or hunting, a 3 fletching arrow gives you the ability to release your arrow with a good drag and spin. They also steer your arrow successfully. In addition to 3 fletching, 4 fletch arrow configurations are also used for improving stability. But this has a greater surface area and drag. Arrows with 3 fletching have a smaller surface area by 25% compared to a 4 fletching arrow. This is also a reason why the arrow stability and drag are better with 4 fletch arrows. A 4 vane is perfect for short and low profile vane distance, and have an improved shot and success rate during the wind. Fletching Setup: Helical Helical fletching will set the vane at a slight offset at the back and then curve the vane back in the opposite direction toward the front. Adding this “twist” to the vane will give your arrow the maximum amount of rotation in flight, thus resulting in the best broadhead stability and greatest accuracy. Right helical is standard in today’s industry, Left helical is a more traditional style. Both work equally well. Straight Straight fletching will set all three vanes in a straight line down the arrow shaft. This style is popular for crossbows with narrow rails and archers using traditional equipment. Straight fletching offers the least amount of drag in flight, giving a very slight increase in arrow speed, at the loss of some accuracy and broadhead stabilization. Offset Offset fletching sets the vanes in a straight line, but at a 4-degree angle down the arrow. This style is popular again for crossbows due to their rail systems. Offset fletching offers moderate accuracy and broadhead stabilization.

In the spirit of the War Party Movement, you can select one of the branded designs to stand out and bring awareness to mission of the War Party Team One obvious reason for using arrow wraps, is for aesthetic purposes. Arrow wraps come in a wide variety of colors and designs that you can choose from, which can add a nice finish to your arrows. Wraps help with Arrow Visibility, protecting the arrow shaft increasing longevity, and Makes Fletching Easier. Wraps weigh an average of 1 grain per inch. For a lot of archers, this added weight does not make a difference to the arrow’s flight path, but the added weight can increase kinetic energy at impact.
